Photo by  Anna Kolosyuk  on  Unsplash Autism or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication. We now know that there is not one autism but many subtypes, and each person with autism can have unique strengths and challenges. A combination of genetic and environmental factors influence the development of autism and autism often is accompanied by medical issues such as GI disorders, seizures, and sleep disturbances.  Fact: Autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children. Dental Designs Of Naples and Fort Myers welcomes patients and families in our offices where they can feel treated properly and with respect. We are committed to increasing awareness and acceptance by ensuring access to our dental services for the autism community.  Our 2nd year participating in Autism Speaks Walk at Estero Community Park this past October 5th, has allowed

Oral Cancer: What you need to know

Image
Each year in the US alone, almost 50,000 individuals are newly diagnosed with oral cancer. Oral cancer is the largest group of those cancers which fall into the head and neck category. The death rate from oral cancer is very high; about 43% of those diagnosed will not survive more than five years. Knowing your lifestyle and early detection could be the two factors that can avoid or reduce the risk of oral cancer. Tobacco and chewing tobacco, along with alcohol are the leading causes of it. Most oral cancer can be caught early with screenings performed at the dental office. These screenings are painless, quick, and inexpensive.  At Dental Designs: Dentistry Of Naples and Fort Myers we provide this vital service with the purpose of finding any changes in the oral tissue. We would like to introduce the VELscope Vx tool, used by dental professionals as an aid to examination for oral abnormalities and premalignant dysplasia. The VELscope’s blue light stimulates natural fluorescen

Fatherhood

“The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams and aspirations he sets not only for himself but for his family.” ― Reed Markham” Dr. Padilla his Dad Once upon a time, we had a little boy that stepped into his dad’s garden and visualized a picture of himself saving lives. Surrounded by lights and dreams, his dad looked at him and asked: What would you like to become when you grow up, Jr.? _He answered: I will be a Dentist. Fast-forwarding the story, Dr.Padilla did not know that years later he would impact so many lives and change their smiles for the better. This month of June is important in our Company. We celebrate, elevate our fathers and staff members that work consistently and invest time on ourselves. Sometimes, their job description is less rewarded and Dental Designs wants to enhance their duties by dedicating this blog to each of one of them.  Dr. Padilla, Andre Padilla and Sergio Padilla Their guidance and dedication for their family

Image
By: Yaima Mejias Public Relations Officer @topdentaldesigns If you are having an extraction or by accident you have lost a tooth or more than one, you should consider bone grafting to preserve your socket. This month of May, happens to be the one celebrating Mother’s day and our women in general. For that reason, Dental Designs would like to not only educate our female population but the ones that search about implants , bone graft or replacement of missing teeth, and answers are far away from reality. In this blog we would love to give you some important information and advantages related to this topic. Patient Advantages . Preservation of natura

April in your Calendar

Image
April in your Calendar "Individual commitment to a group effort--that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." --Vince Lombardi Let’s virtually seat down for a moment and have a cup of coffee. When was the last time you, my friend, took a real break from your daily routine? Yes, you! The one that is always working, planning, designing, incorporating new ideas, training, cleaning and busting the heck out of your brain at night. If you are trying to do all on your own, we have some great news for you: You are not alone. In order for you to start a family, a company or building a great dental team at work like ours, you need a plan of action. Something similar to write down a business draft and mind map every detail to make sure all hats and bases are well covered. Then, you begin adding new dental treatments, pieces of training, a lot of it joined to a time frame that does not fit 24 hours, at times. Our first quarter

Queens Of White Roses

Women: Queens Of White Roses Victoria Peña / Actual Patient The White color represents pure love, peace, and sympathy. It also claims to be the color of our dental crowns when your tooth is compromised and needs a cap to restore it. For women, if a tooth is missing or extracted, it is imperative to replace it, period. Our job is to deliver a safe-effective plan to rehabilitate the space for the preservation of the bone and the patient's general appearance of aging. When we, women, take care of ourselves, life is even whiter. One of our patients after a dental procedure, exclaimed to the staff: “I am officially a Queen today." Her face was definitively bright and her eyes had an invitation for a finished selfie on the phone. She just had a “Crown” placed after a couple of hours in our dental office. It was marvelous to see that she adorned her smile with some white roses around it. Probably we do not know much about colors, but it caught my attention-why, no

You and I, We Are Love!

Image
You and I, We Are Love! If you really like someone, like madly in love, you would guess you should give it all! On the other hand, compromising and understanding the relationship between two people has been the key effect of trust and communication to work together. In this romantic and caring season of the year, let us share a story with you at Dental Designs. When Dr.Padilla and his wife Solymar met, they knew “zero” about dentistry. Their actual city, Coamo, in Puerto Rico was the witness of their first kiss and the true passion of contributing to the world, but also the witness of becoming one after they got married back in 1995. Unlike many other friends, they had this “aura” for changing people’s lives wherever they were, taking them into a higher mission of love for others. So much so, they built and fed that fearness of becoming a better version of ourselves in all of us throughout these years of work. This result wouldn’t be possible without their dedication and
